UPN signs up St. Louis affiliate

LOS ANGELES, June 8 (Reuters) - Television broadcaster UPN on Friday
said it has signed a long-term affiliation agreement with WHSL-TV
in St. Louis, Missouri, giving it coverage of the last of the top
50 U.S. TV markets it was not already in.
Currently, UPN broadcasts into St. Louis through a secondary affiliation
with KPLR-TV, but this new deal means it will begin airing its entire
slate of programming by early 2003, the company said in a statement.
WHSL-TV currently operates as the Home Shopping Network affiliate,
WHSL-TV is in the nation's 22nd largest market and represents 1.097
percent of the television households in the United States, according
to UPN.
UPN is a unit of New York-based entertainment company, Viacom Inc..
