I don’t know about you guys but it has taken awhile to digest the whole Buffy phenomenon and really recognise the impact it had on my life. It was such an exciting time, waiting anxiously for Tuesday nights when a new episode of Buffy was going to be running. Oh and when there was Buffy THEN Angel. Awesome. Even when I didn’t think they were that good they still were better than anything else I had come across at that time.

Starting up Slayage.com and running it for all those years had a enormous positive impact on my life as well. So much fun sharing all that with other fans like you and being part of the Buffy community.

I finally have the head space to start thinking creatively about the website again so I’m back to see what we can make out of it.

Well, as they say BRING IT ON!

Hi!

I have an idea what you can do with this website (It used to be my favorite Buffy website for years until it, like Buffy herself did on occation, died...) - make it into a site about season 8 - comic style! Our favorite characters are back and kicking more ass than ever before on paper pages! It’s awesome, it’s canon, created by Joss Whedon himself, and will be running for at least two years! Creating this forum is a great start. Now we should have picture galleries, news about season 8, interviews with Joss and co. etc, etc. So once again, bring on the night - cause there’s gonna be a whooole lotta slayage goin’ on!

I heartily agree!  Other sites have some Season 8 stuff, but to have a dedicated space for news and discussion would be amazing.

Ditto coolbuffymom. I’ve had this page as my homepage for forever… I don’t wanna find a new one.

I have to admit that I have no one in my “real life” that could care the least about BTVS (except my nephew who is always up for a showing of “Once More, With Feeling"). It’s nice to find people who still enjoy it and have learned to see so much in the show. I just wish I lived near a town where the traveling musical is going to be. May be time for a road trip to Houston. Hope to speak to everyone again soon. vampire

For me, Buffy was always this guilty pleasure that became more enjoyable everytime I met another fan of the show.

As an adult, it was always fun to be chatting with a co-worker about last night’s episode and discussing how incredible the writing and story lines are only to have a co-worker ask:

“What show are you talking about?”

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Puzzled look.

“Oh.”

And then they’d walk off.

I have yet to find anything that has captured my imagination so completely.

Buffy definitely falls under the guilty pleasure category for me as well. For a long time, I didn’t tell anyone that I was watching it; I would watch on my computer during my lunch hour at work to avoid detection. I finally confided in my boyfriend, he’s a film critic, and he had never seen the show. He was sceptical at first, but once he actually sat down and watched it with me, he realized how great it is. He’s converted now. Although he would never publicly admit it.

Has anyone seen the live show? How is it?

I don’t have anyone in my real life to discuss BTVS with either. I just finished watching, for the second time, all seven seasons. I have to admit I cried through the last 20 minutes of the final episode. I miss the Scoobies. I can’t even think of Anya and Tara without getting emotional.

I am on my third or fourth “consecutive” view of the series, I can’t keep track.  I am on the finale of season 6....Tara just died and I am heartbroken all over again.  I am back to dreaming about Buffy every night.  I am so glad others share my sick obsession… smile

I am also obsessed. I could cry just thinking about Tara dying.

My parents got a television in 1954, but I didn’t know why I was watching tv until I saw BtVS.  I feel sorry for all the young people who have scant hope of seeing any series this good again.  BTW, I can’t help myself, but I record the FX BtVS and Angel shows that are on in the wee hours and watch them as if it were the first time.

DPTNST,
John

There are other wonderful shows out there. In fact one that is on DVD is Freaks and Geeks. Unfortunately it only had one season. I suggest anyone who is reading this, to run, don’t walk, to get the Freaks and Geeks DVDs. I am sure you will thank me.

Sometimes I tell people I like Buffy and they look at me like I’m either a feminist or a freak, because I am a guy that likes a woman empowerment show..  The story line is great, and Spike is my favorite character cuz he doesn’t give a shit and messes people’s shit up..  I would love to see a new show come out, getting through all these rumors.. While nothing will ever be as good as Buffy, something to relate to it would be great..  Call me a loser, but I’m an 18 year old guy that loves the show and watch like 2 or 3 episodes every night before I go to bed..  Can anyone tell me if the show is re-aired anywhere besides FX way early in the morning?
