A Question Regarding Variant Comic Book Covers

I would just like to ask if there are others out there who currently are into reading Angel “After the Fall”. And if so, is there anybody out there who is acquiring the variant covers for the Angel After the Fall comic (which is currently slated to be 12 issues only)

The reason I ask is this, I noticed that for each issue of Angel ATF there are five (5) individual covers that are printed. Covers A & B are considered equal because equal numbers of cover A & B are printed. Cover R1A can be a sketch while R1B variant is usually a virgin cover. Both are a bit more rare and usually cost between $7.99 - $19.99.

Then there is the Time and Space Toys EXCLUSIVE cover which I was told (by T&S Toys) that only 1000 of these exclusive covers will be printed for each of the 12 exclusive covers making these covers even rarer than the R1A and B.

My question is this, is there anybody else out there who feels as compelled as I do to try and obtain every single cover offered for Angel After the Fall comics???? Feel free to write directly to me because I am seriously interested in hearing what others are doing when it comes to Angel. (RICHJL413 at yahoo dot com).

Just for the record, the Buffy season 8 comics does NOT offer as many different covers as Angel BUT, I did see an $80.00 cover of Buffy season 8 issue 1 today at the comic book store and was surprised to see it. I think the way that works is for every 80 regular covers only 1 of the special cover is produced. The ratio is therefore 80/1.

Joss Wheden Holds Top Four (4) Spots…..

Hello my fellow Buffy and Angel fans. Just a quick note to inform you (as if you didn’t already know) that the top 4 spots in the comic book world are currently being held by Himself Joss Wheden and his creations. Top 4 are as follows and are based on popularity:

1)Buffy Season 8 - Issue 13
2) Angel Season 6 - Issue 6
3) Serenity - Issue 1
4) Angel Season 6 - Issue 5

Of the thousands and thousands of different comics out there available in this day and age it is simply amazing that our lead man Joss holds the top 4 slots based on popularity. Now who out there doesn’t believe that everything he touches turns to gold?

You continue to make us proud Joss, thank you for continuing to bring quality entertainment (or is it edutainment) to the masses, we ALL appreciate your hard work and hope you continue what you’re doing and change nothing. Well, except perhaps filming a Buffy movie once you finish with the 2nd Serenity* film.

They haven’t announced who will be there yet but Buffy will be at the Paley festival in Los Angeles.

Here’s why...To awaken Buffy, Xander was the one who kissed her, out of true love. Buffy is aware of this but the subject was not pursued. That’s just one clue that they will eventually hook up. She’s working so closely with him now, it is inevitable. Anyone out there agree? Disagree?

Is it true, that Sarah Michelle Gellar and James Marsters were feeling abjused in the 7th season - in the sexscenes?
I hope not, because I really enjoyed their acting and energi (all togehter).... Buffy is a great show with so many layers…

Faith---reformed for good?

If you haven’t read the latest comic, don’t read this post! I just read #7, and I am truly excited about the choice Faith faces in the next issue. I believe she is firmly on the side of good, but she seems to have just tumbled into a gray area, where she will be making judgement calls and facing her demons--neither of which she is ever that enthusiastic about doing. She stepped up as a leader in Season7, which bodes well. But she also has a huge soft spot for her fellow slayers, and for other bad girls. Maybe I’m just feeling pessimistic because I watched “Graduation Part I” today. Anyway, I’d love to hear what thoughts anyone has…

Letting go….

I don’t know about you guys but it has taken awhile to digest the whole Buffy phenomenon and really recognise the impact it had on my life. It was such an exciting time, waiting anxiously for Tuesday nights when a new episode of Buffy was going to be running. Oh and when there was Buffy THEN Angel. Awesome. Even when I didn’t think they were that good they still were better than anything else I had come across at that time.

Starting up Slayage.com and running it for all those years had a enormous positive impact on my life as well. So much fun sharing all that with other fans like you and being part of the Buffy community.

I finally have the head space to start thinking creatively about the website again so I’m back to see what we can make out of it.

Well, as they say BRING IT ON!
